iRemotePC - Free Remote Desktop and File Transfer service
This may be the most powerful remote desktop tool I’ve seen. Even allows for file-sharing and folder syncing.

This is just too good. Being able to alt+tab between windows might be the number one shortcut I miss from Windows when I’m on a Mac. And donationware to boot. Awesome.
While you’re there, check out Butler. Another app I use to create the quickstart links I like from Windows (not a big fan of the Dock).
Wanna learn another language?  For free? Well, you can go to iTunes or just download the FSI’s audio. Copyright free from good ol’ Uncle Sam.
home improvement with eric stromer - AOL DIY
Videos showing how to make/improve stuff around the house. Not fancy, but some good basic overviews. Like the bit on making a toy box. Maybe not for toys, but for making some other stuff around the house disappear.
Split Browser | Firefox Add-ons | Mozilla Corporation
My buddy Thomas sent this to me. Interesting, but I’m kind of so-so about this idea: being able to split a single pane in Firefox to show various URLs. I love Firefox and never use IE (except to test sites I’m designing), but it can be a memory hog. Wonder what this will to do it?
Download of the Day: Launchy 1.0 (Windows) - Lifehacker
Mind you I’m trying to switch to a Mac environment as much as possible (at home I’m just waiting for Apple to update the iMac and drop Leapord). And I’m using Quicksilver on my Mac at work. Lifehacker talks up Launchy for Windows as Quicksilver coming to the PC (almost).
Unwired View / Replace the PC with your cellphone and Sony Ericsson Multimedia Cradle
I’ve said, for several years now, that the cellphone will eventually develop into the center of our digital life. Once processors develop into tiny powerhouses, drives go flash based with 100 gigs or so (enough for video editing and metaverse development, something which will remain very difficulty from servers for some time to come) and wireless peripheral connectivity (bluetooth, wireless usb) develops, there will be little reason for big boxes except for servers.
Just plug your phone into a location which offers a monitor, keyboard and a few other niceties and you’re ready to go. Include an extra processor and your phone’s OS can get a boost in a multiple processing environment. Suddenly you are truly portable with gigs of space to work from.
While business will go to this first, education will feel the biggest boon. Students can keep one device and move their operating environment (including special settings they may benefit from) from location to location, seemlessly. This device is on the right path. Now it just needs a massive monitor, maybe even one buried behind a mirror.
Models listing - Teapotters.com
It only makes sense. Flickr for photos, YouTube for video. And Teapotters for 3D artists. Pretty nice. Slow interface, but the eventual repository will be very valuable for those with limited access to good 3D software.
