Just ordered one of these. Should be at my parents’ house in Virginia right now. Can’t wait to get it set up and running. Will certainly make our music listening in the living room more convenient. Right now, we have to go all the way upstairs to the 3rd floor to make changes. Which pretty much means you have to select a playlist and just sit through the songs you might not be in the mood for in the moment. Hopefully, this will work very well as we’ve had some problems with the network going two floors and around the water and gas pipes in the house.
I’m on the fence about this device. If it was around $100 I think it would be a must-have if you have a good music collection. But $180 is pretty stiff for this type of functionality. I assume the LCD screen must make it pretty expensive.
Still, I want to keep it in mind. Now that we have an Airtunes, I’ll be constantly tempted by this thingy.
Belkin : Front-Access In-Desk USB Hub - 3 Inch
I have a computer, a desk and a grommet hole (don’t know what size since it is in storage) and this looks like a great addition once we get everything set up.
NewerTech miniStack FireWire and USB Hub
Okay, this is one sweet case. Firewire and USB hub in one. I don’t need any cases at the moment, but this will certainly be my next case when the time comes.
I currently own a Treo. Palm based, I don’t have an interest in Windows Mobile at this point (any more than I have an interest in the iPhone). I like the Palm OS. Basic, runs what you need. And I support it to keep Windows and Apple from eventually owning the phone OS market.
Open Moko takes it even further. Why not have an open source OS on your phone? It is new to the market and I’m not ready to swap out my Treo yet, but it is an interesting thought.

Another nice utility for pruning and watering your mac. It looks a lot like PowerTweaksUI for Windows.

I fully expect all monitors to be touchscreen by 2009. I said within 5 years around 2004 and I’m sticking to it. It does make me wonder how this will change the way we interact with our computers. Oh, if only I could order some of these up t play with and discover. Until then, I’ll keep playing with my tiny touchscreen tablet.
Light Strokes OptiPaintâ„¢ system
Painting system for people with non-mouse skills. At $2500, it is out of my personal range, but it could be quite useful for Art programs.
Oh, ho, ho. Look at this. No longer do you need to carry an extra device, you can just click it to the camera and head out. Being able to record all of the necessary data to accurately report the location of your pictures without thinking about it will enable people to geo-tag without removing from the purity of exploring the world through the camera lens.
OCZ releases super small USB key
The USB stick wars are on and this may be the winner for minimal pocket space. Nice looking design. Small and unobtrusive.
