Anacreon’s Place

Firstly, many thanks to Daryl Weade for lending me the space from his site to do my own blog-thing. Much appreciated. And please, check out his site if you get a chance. He’s a very solid writer.

This blog site for me is a kind of workspace. I have a myspace page where the completed, more polished stuff goes. Here I will include more in-process stuff, and perhaps things of a slightly more experimental nature.  I have begun to tell more people about this site as, with more entries, it’s feeling a bit more fleshed out to me. The MySpace blog has the polished, definitely finished stuff. A lot of it has been in the pipeline for many years. This site is the heap of burning coals. It’s the center of what I’m doing right now, perhaps less finished, but all the more passion for that.

 (added 5/31/08t.j.) What has in fact transpired is that I have a two-track system where I try not to duplicate the contents of either site. This exists maintly to keep it fresh for me although I understand that it could be a bit confusing for someone who doesn’t realize that, having viewed one site, there is a whole lot more work out there than what they have already seen. I’m going to stick with myspace for a while as I’ve already put so much work into it, but it’s a bit problematic because so many potential readers don’t have access to it.

 That doesn’t remotely mean that everything here is completely new. Some of the poems are several years old. But, whatever the provenance, they are the things that concern me jetzt im moment sozusagen. They’re what’s closest to my heart.
